Issey Miyake

Issey Miyake is by far the most well-known Japanese designer in the world. Over the past 30 years he has succeeded in having successfully merged East and West in his designs. His men's and women's collection are defined as slim, beautifully-cut, architecturally-constructed designs with an emphasis on subtle details.

Miyake was born in Hiroshima in 1938. He established the Miyake Design Studio in 1970 and started showing his line at the Paris collections in 1973.

Miyake's basic principle for making clothes has always been the notion of creating an article of clothing from one piece of cloth. He explores the space between the human body and the fabric that covers it. He strikes a consistent balance between tradition and originality and craftsmanship and technology.

The name L'eau d'Issey (engl.: Issey's water) is a pun. In French, it sounds identical to "l'odyssée" (engl. odyssey). The scent was followed by L'eau d'Issey Pour Homme (for men) in 1994. L'eau Bleue d'Issey Pour Homme was introduced in 2004; however, it was recently discontinued due to low sales. A new Issey Miyake men's fragrance, L'eau d'Issey Pour Homme Intense, was introduced at Nordstrom in the United States in June 2007, with a larger worldwide rollout following in September 2007.

Não resisti vir aqui porque sei que também não resistes. Sei bem que me lês e que deves ter mordido os dedos até doer, mas tiveste de saber se tinha escrito mais alguma coisa. E venho, sim. Venho porque é a minha derradeira tentativa de te magoar com as minhas palavras .


Depois da ousadia de me pedires para apagar tudo o que escrevi sobre nós neste espaço virtual, vieste despedir-te e, dizes tu, explicar-te. Aquelas explicações típicas de homem que não sabe bem o que dizer, que está a fazer algo contrariado, que mete os pés pelas mãos, o rabo entre as pernas e sai um discurso estúpido, imaturo até. Querias tu poder guardar toda a tua vida numa caixinha, de vez em quando, fechavas tudo bem fechadinho e ias ter com quem te preenche, porque tu tens um espaço oco em ti. Uma lacuna que precisa de ser preenchida. A necessidade é humana. Mas a vida não cabe em caixas de doces ou de sapatos e, por isso mesmo, exige decisões e mudanças com mais força e garra do que aquela que tu tens. Então, tudo morre. Então, muito preferes matar em ti. Então, vives uma vida a que tu próprio chamaste de morna, em detrimento de outras coisas que te fazem bem.


Não tinha de ser um caso, nem um namoro e muito menos casamento. Não fazia qualquer sentido até. Mas gostava genuinamente de ti. Quiseste saber a minha opinião antes de fechar a janela e eu só tinha vontade de te mandar à merda e chamar-te todos os nomes de irritação. Como consegues viver assim? Não sentes que estão a passar por cima de ti e das tuas vontades? Não tens vontade própria?


Não, não tens. E como qualquer coisa que pudesse dizer era irrelevante para o desfecho fatal, em letras garrafais disse-te que para mim já chegava, que desaparecesses. E puxei da ficha para que não tivesses oportunidade de me dizer mais nada. Se calhar não te importas que me magoe, se calhar estás-te nas tintas para o que eu possa sentir ou pensar, mas eu acreditei que tinhas carácter. Afinal não. Se calhar ninguém tem. Assim, procedi à eliminação de centenas (não sabia que eram tantos!) de e-mails. Com um cotovelo na mesa e um braço que segurava a cabeça, fui carregando no delete como quem quer passar uma borracha. Se calhar fizeste o mesmo. Se calhar já não guardas em ti o sabor a morango. Se calhar destruíste os CD's que te gravei. E porque não quero ficar atrás, já nada me lembra de ti. À minha volta, nada existe que me possa lembrar da tua cara, do teu carro, das nossas conversas, das nossas doçuras.


Já não trocamos enigmas confusos capazes de nos levar ao desespero. Códigos estranhos que continham sempre a mais amorosa das mensagens, tão à vista e tão escondidas. Não tiveste nem tempo para uma chamada, disseste tu. Apenas uns minutos de msn. Hoje não tiveste, mas houve dias em que tiveste mais que tempo para fazer coisas que só nós sabemos. Mas isso já não te interessa. Nem a mim.


Agora és mais um igual a muitos, mais um entre tantos. Vale-me aquela capacidade que o meu psicólogo chamava de desumana: a capacidade de colocar as pessoas no lixo. Confesso que inicialmente não é fácil, custa um bocadinho, mas em menos de nada já nem vou saber qual é o teu nome. A médio prazo, o meu cérebro faz elipses. Não é voluntário, mas é uma capacidade divinal.


E não percebias tu porque desconfiava eu da própria sombra, quando tu és uma prova disso. Já não és especial, agora és um dado estatístico. Não te preocupes, que estas são mesmo as últimas linhas para ti, quando nem estas merecias, mas eu sou uma querida e tu sabes disso. Não quero que deixes de saber o que vales. Vales um e-mail, nas tuas palavras: adoro-te. Nem sei dizer o que te passou pela cabeça quando pensaste que recorreria a ti em caso de necessidade...

E mais que tudo, porque não tenho nem aceito generais na minha vida, gosto de te dizer: Babe, eu não quero as tuas migalhas.
